Warriors Edged by Tri-Unity in OT, 42-40
The Western Michigan Christian boys basketball team took on Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian on Tuesday in a thriller, eventually falling 42-40 in overtime.
WMC held a 21-17 halftime lead, but fell behind by six at the end of the third quarter before taking a two-point lead in the final minutes, but couldn’t hold on as regulation finished tied at 38-38.
In overtime, Tri-Unity scored as time expired for their two-point victory.
“I was proud of the way our team battled back tonight,” said WMC head coach Kurt Gruppen. “We were able to get a couple of key defensive stops down the stretch to force overtime. As a team, we took a step forward today and have a few things we can build off of.”
Brevin Byrne led the Warriors with nine points.
