Warriors take the first game of the GMAA but drop the second.

The Warriors traveled to Whitehall for their pairings for the GMAA tournament on Saturday taking the first game against Holton, 15-1, and dropping the second game to Whitehall, 3-11.  In the first game, the Warriors went into the top of the 4th inning up 4-1 where they proceeded to score 11 runs to put the game out of reach.  The team combined for ten hits, with Caleb McKay (Fr.) leading the way with three hits and two RBI and Sam Liggett (Sr.) with two hits and three RBI and Sam Sipe (Jr.) with two hits and four RBI.  Liggett notched the win pitching all five innings allowing 2 hits, 0 earned runs, 2 walks, and 7 strikeouts.

In the second, Whitehall jumped out to an early 7-1 lead after two innings and never looked back, adding 4 runs in the fifth inning.  The Warriors had just three hits with Ethan Hill (Sr.) with a hit and an RBI.  McKay and Max Miller (Fr.) collected the other two hits.  Sipe took the loss for the Warriors.

Coach Hill- "This was a tough day playing our fifth game in three days.  The boys came out in the first game focused and ready to play.  We got out to an early lead and then got into a nice rhythm offensively.  In the second, the Whitehall pitcher did an excellent job keeping our hitters off balance and we just never got comfortable at the plate.  We'll continue to work and get better."
