Warriors Remain Undefeated

with 1-0 Weather-Shortened Win

The game was played a WMC against Fruitport and the Warriors won 1-0 to move to  3-0-2 on the season. The game was called due to lighting with 16 minutes left in the game.

“I thought our boys played a really good and inspired first half and that, because of a great defense, keeper play and the lighting, it was enough,” WMC coach David Hulings said.
“We were able to get on the board with a nice penetration dribble by Hayden Hubers, who then slotted a pass to Charlie Alfree at the top of the six who sent it to the back of the net. It was great combination play.  I thought the entire first half we had multiple quality attacks.  We have to have patience on attack and the scoring will come.  We are very eager and tend to start making too many poor decisions.

“The second half was also very competitive, but Fruitport really started to pick up their pace.  We had to avoid some great attacks.  Brandon Fles, Brant Zeerip, Joe Hain and Brevin Byrne did a great job in the back to keep Fruitport out of our net.  Goalie Jamison Goorman did a great job to come off his line and keep the shutout.   

“We have some time off now to get refreshed and ready for conference play next week.”
