WMC: 0 NM: 2

WMC held off the defending state champs until the last 7 minutes of the match. Conditions increased from rain to snow as the match played out; having both teams conquer an inch of heavy, wet snow as they fight to keep the ball in the slick conditions. 

Due to the injuries accumulated in the game and players playing out of normal positions; that’s when NM was able to take the lead. 

Libby Mast posted well for us in net having a clean sheet until the last 7 minutes of the game. Coach Debbie also gave an extreme amount of credit to our back line and for many players stepping up to fill new positions as they work through early injuries and having two of their attacking threats battling calf cramps all game. WMC was evenly matched with the Norsemen and were coached to play a low block, which caused North Muskegon challenges for 73 of the 80 minutes. 

Both Coach Debbie and Coach Jared McFarland are extremely proud of the fight and grit of these girls and are very excited to continue building off of this momentum as we prepare for two bigger opponents; Spring Lake on Monday and Reeths Puffer on Wednesday.
