Western Michigan Christian Gets Season Sweep of Muskegon Catholic in Thursday Double Header 6-5 and 11-4

In the first game of the twin bill, the Warriors started the scoring in the third inning scoring 3 runs when Samuel VanOrman (Sr.) hit a bases clearing triple.  The Warriors added another in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 4-0 ballgame.  The crusaders came storming back in the top of the seventh to take the lead 5-4.  The Warriors came out strong and scored on a passed ball and a bunt single walk-off by Sam Sipe (Jr.) to win the game.

The Warriors had nine hits, led by Sipe with two.  VanOrman lead the team with 3 RBI.  Samuel Vanorman (Sr.) took the win in relief.  Sam Liggett (Sr.) pitched six innings allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts.

In the night cap, shortened to five innings due to light, the Warriors started strong, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second inning.  The crusaders were not to be outdone scoring three tuns in the top of the third.  The Warriors put it away with a nine run bottom half.  The Crusaders added a run in the top of the fifth to end the scoring.

The Warriors were lead at the plate by Sipe and Liggett with two runs hits each, with Liggett's both being doubles.  Jamie Cho (Sr.) had a 3RBI double while Liggett added 2 RBI's of his own.  Alex Wagonmaker (Fr.) took the win for the Warriors pitching all five innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, 0 walks, and 3 strikeouts.

Coach Hill- "In the first game, when we were down going into the bottom of the 7th inning, we talked about being in that position before and to just focus on making the at bats "count".  You could tell on the guy's faces that they were determined to make the most of each at bat and they did.  We are really swinging well right now as we finish up the conference part of our schedule.  I'm proud of our accomplishments this week."  

Record: Overall 13-5, Conference 10-1.
