Varsity Baseball Caps Off Regular Season With a 12-2 Win vs. Hesperia!

The Warriors finished their regular season schedule with a non-conference matchup against Hesperia at Marsh Field Tuesday night.  The Warriors came out swinging scoring two runs in the first and second inning and proceeded to add five more in the fifth inning.  The Panthers added two runs in the sixth but the Warriors added three more runs in the seventh inning to finish off the Panthers.

WMC was paced at the plate by Sam Sipe (Jr.) with 3 hits and 4 RBI's.  Sam Liggett (Sr.) added 3 hits and 2 RBI's- with his last hit of the night being his 100th career hit.  Jono Clausing (Jr.) added 2 hits as well.  Liggett led on the mound as well pitching 5 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, and 8 strikeouts.  Sipe came to the mound and pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief allowing 0 hits, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts.

Coach Hill- "It means a lot finishing off the 2022 regular season with a win at Marsh Field.  And having senior Sam Liggett collecting the win on the mound and hitting his 100th career hit tonight makes it even more special.  We have a lot of momentum heading into the playoffs this weekend.  There are still a few things to work on but, all in all, it's a great way to finish the regular season."
