Score
WARRIORS: 6
MANISTEE HIGH SCHOOL: 0

Boys soccer was back in action on Tuesday night after a long holiday weekend, with the Warriors hosting the Chippewas of Manistee.  The JV team took the first 15 minutes to get back in form and then started to find the back of the net and finished with a solid 6-0 victory over the visitors.  Ryan Riksen (So, Grand Haven) broke through first on a great low driven shot past the keeper from outside the penalty box.  It was followed up 4 minutes later as Riksen received a through pass into the box from Luke Proctor (Fr, Grand Haven) and one-touch passed it to the middle where Ramon (So, Barcelona) was able to bury it in the back of the net for his first goal of the night.  With 8 minutes left in the first half, Paco (So, Barcelona) was able to get free on the wing and beat his defender into goal and calmly slid the ball underneath the Manistee goalkeeper to go into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

Coming out of the halftime, the Warriors remained hungry and kept the high pressure defense in order to create turnovers and keep the ball away from their goal.  7 minutes into the second half, the Spanish connection was able to add another tally to the scoreboard as Paco was able to send a cross into Ramon who was waiting in the box and blasted another shot into the back of the net for his second goal of the night.  Lucas Matz (Fr, Grand Haven) added to the lead by out hustling the Manistee defense and getting a shot on goal then following up the rebound to put it in the back of the net.  Then with 8 minutes left in the game, Eli Nail (Fr, Muskegon) put the final "nail" in the coffin by crashing the net and connecting on a rebound and shooting it past the outstretched arms of the keeper.

The Warriors outshot the Chippewas 16-1, with Dan Minasian (So, Fremont) securing another shutout.

Warriors are now 2-1-1 and will travel to Potter's House on Friday at 4:30 before hosting Shelby (9am) and Calvin Christian (1pm) on Saturday in the full day Warrior Invite.
